I know, I'm just joking around. I did have to watch it twice though, the combo of the thick accent and the quietness of his voice in comparison to the music was tough for those of us not used to hearing such awesome accents.

getting free legal music is one of the hardest parts about producing. The myspace thing will work but keep in mind you might contact 100 people and only get a couple responses. connections in the music industry is key. It's hard work but it's a lot nicer having legal music, because then you don't need to worry.

cool. I posted it on the homepage auto-player to help it get views. Let's see how many views it gets over the next couple weeks then I'll see about getting you some stuff. The stickers haven't showed up yet but I'll try to get them to you as well.

I love the camera. it is small, light, and knocks out some amazing colors. It has a Leica lens, that's quality, and records Audio in 5.1 Dolby Surround. 12x optical zoom is sweet too. As for file size, I don't really know. I've only edited one video taken with it, and it was my first ever, so I don't really know what the file size would be. It takes video in AVCHD compression format (look it up on wikipedia) so that can be hard to work with because it is a complicated format. Use Final Cut (I have express, it works fine,) to edit it, you can easily work with it in there. I just havent found the right export settings yet.

As for stills, it takes a rather unimpressive 2 Megapixel picture, but the amazing color of the camera makes up for that. And on the plus side of that, it is already the right size for uploading to the internet.

It records onto SD-HC cards, which are 4 gigabytes each, so you get about an hour recording time per card.

To import it, you don't just click "import" but you have to use the "log and transfer" tool in FCE and FCP. With Adobe Premier Pro, the file transfer is a bit faster (I used the free trial) but you have to watch out, because you have to make the sequence settings perfect or it won't work. Final Cut automatically creates sequence settings for you.

I have a video on my profile that was shot with the camera. It came out only ok because I didn't export right. So don't use this one video as a judge of camera quality. I suggest you look up the camera itself on Vimeo as it probably has a group of vids produced with just that camera. As I collect more footy, I'll put up more vids.

Hope this helps

I'm having trouble loading your video. Are you able to watch it? What format of video did you upload to the site?

Dec 2, 2008 05:57 pm

Milkman

you would need to update to FCP 6 and to OS Leopard to be able to edit the footage in final cut. I'm upgrading to Leopard today because I really want to see my footage.

Dec 2, 2008 12:06 am

Milkman

yeah, it works awesome but you have to upgrade all your computer software to edit the footage. That's why I haven't posted any of the footage yet.

If you want to keep progressing your editing learn Final Cut Pro. Just follow tutorials that you find online. And we could start a Final Cut pro Question and Answers in the Rip Video Production Forum. If you have any specific questions just ask them in the forum the other people can get answers to the same questions.

I would recommend upgrading to HD. I'm in Maui right now testing this little Panasonic out in the surf. We made a underwater housing for it. I'll let you now how it goes. So far it's got great quality but feel very cheap.
