HUNTING YETI - the movie!

POSTED: Friday, June 27th, 2008

What is it about skiing? The Nimbus Independent crew tries to answer that question with the new release, “HUNTING YETI.” This film showcases skiing that is more fun and enjoyable for everyone, more about fluidity and style than amplitude or quantity of rotations, it breaks from the norm of pro athletes hitting jump after jump with a couple contrived lifestyle segments, to producing a project that communicates what ski culture is and the community it creates.

“HUNTING YETI” searches for the piece of mind and serenity that being in nature, the mountains and with your friends provides from the crazy, fast paced world. Follow the Nimbus Crew on their season long road trip, riding with like minded skiers and snowboarders, whether sponsored or not. From never ending pillow lines to epic sled missions in the backcountry, witness what it takes to make it happen. Not just the high fives and big smiles, but also relentless traveling, flat tires, broken sleds, fast food, early mornings and injuries.

“HUNTING YETI” was shot in high-definition and features the sliding abilities of: Pep Fujas, Eric Pollard, Chris Benchetler, Ike Smith, Andy Mahre, and their friends. Throughout the season, the Nimbus crew meet up and rode with: Dylan Hood, Bryce Phillips, Erin Valverde-Pollard, Sammy Carlson, Shin Campos, Garrett Russell, Griffin Cummings, Josh Frazier, Christian Sirianni and Tommy Ellingson.

The Nimbus hunting ground consisted of: North Cascade Heli Skiing, Whistler, Ski Bowl, Timberline, Mt. Hood Meadows, Sonora, Cooke City, Mammoth Mountain, and Mount Saint Helens. Look for “HUNTING YETI” in stores and on the Poor Boyz Productions 2008 Film Tour featuring athlete appearances, free gear, poster signings and after parties.

MSP Presents: CLAIM…The Greatest Ski Movie Ever!

POSTED: Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

The Matchstick Productions Crew is back and better than ever with their latest release, “CLAIM…The Greatest Ski Movie Ever”. The teaser pokes fun at the increasingly epic expectations for ski movies, and how it somehow has become uncool to get excited about skiing. Plus, it actually manages to squeeze in some sick ski shots to boot. Check out the trailer:

“Somewhere along the line in all action sports it became uncool to show how stoked you were when you did something sick. What’s that all about? Skiing is about that surge of adrenaline and stoke, not about feeling the hate of the image police. But at Matchstick, we are stoked and we have to let it out. We have thrown caution to the wind and dared to put the stoke back in skiing. The result is “CLAIM, The Greatest Ski Movie… EVER!” A truly epic film shot in the most amazing locations, featuring the best and boldest skiers in the world today: Mark Abma, Jon Olsson, Shane McConkey, Eric Hjorleifson, and many more. Find “CLAIM, The Greatest Ski Movie… EVER!” on the Matchstick Movie Tour or claim your very own copy today at WWW.SKIMOVIE.COM ”
