Skate: Straight from the 80s

February 29th, 2008

Ben Chibber from Vancouver’s Monke Skateboards stopped by this week to hook up some videos - and some sweet stories about the Vancouver skate scene in the late 80s/early 90s.

“His mom almost never let him come hang out downtown though,” says Ben.
Red One is still reppin the Monke, almost 20 years later:

Yep, things have changed. Chibber says the boards are heavier, fair enough - but I think it’s the steez that’s changed the most. If you need proof, check out this sweet 1985 music video - the pants alone say it all.
