Rip TV is proud to announce its partnership with Nimbus Independent, a crew of like-minded individuals who will showcase a new viewpoint on skiing and film making.

Building on the success of last year’s debut film, IDEA, the group will create a series of five webisodes and one full-length feature film under a new production company, Nimbus Independent.
The new project titled “Hunting Yeti” will star the same cast from IDEA: Andy Mahre, Pep Fujas, Eric Pollard, and new for the season, Chris Benchetler. These riders share duties of producing, directing, filming and selecting the music, while Pollard edits the project. Returning to help document the quest will be Justin Wiegand and Ike Smith. This tight crew will travel the world, documenting skiing from their perspective, meeting up with other skiers both professional and not, showcasing all aspects of skiing and culture along the way.
Nimbus Independent, along with Rip TV, is creating a new business model based on the best of new technology, the internet, and maintaining the status quo with DVD sales and film tour. This year, Nimbus is partnering with Rip.tv to host their website and webisodes.
“I’m really excited about the partnership with Nimbus and Rip and it is a great opportunity for us. As far as the future of independent producers and distribution methods are concerned, Nimbus is way ahead of the curve, just like they are with their skiing,” says Smiley Nesbitt, Ski Business Developer at Rip.
Sponsors and media partners will host the Rip.tv media player for skiers around the world to view the “Hunting Yeti” webisodes. The short film series will also be free to download from Rip in HD for computer and iPod viewing.
