Ballin’ BMX

POSTED: Thursday, December 6th, 2007

…seems to be a theme in BMX these days.
Check out this sexy beast, the Miracco Blend Limited Edition, retail $2000.

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind seeing that gleaming at me from under the Christmas Tree this year. You can check out the full 2008 Miracco lineup on their
new website.
Speaking of Christmas presents (and Dave Mirra), you might want to erase the new Dave Mirra BMX Challenge video game for Nintendo Wii off your list. The general consensus is “extremely shitty.” Or, as this reviewer put it, “you might as well save yourself some cash and just stab yourself in the eye.”
Apparently a ghetto blaster on the shoulder just isn’t enough anymore on the block in Queens, New York - the NY Times ran an article about the latest trend for kids in Queens, who spend thousands tricking out their bikes with sound systems. But these are no compact mp3 players…we’re talkin 5,000 watt, full-sized stereo systems.

Check out the video on the NY Times website. Apparently it’s a huge thing in their native Trinidad. I’d like to see how much speed these kids get on a hill with an extra 1,000 pounds strapped on.
On a final note, is BMX getting boring? This guy must think so… because he decided he had to light himself on fire while riding the park. Brilliant.
